character : the narrator :the is the son. from the story he presents, we know that is a gloomy man who always sees the darker side in life . he blames on his childhood days spent on the chicken farm instead of happy, joyful days of life.

the father : a cheerful farmhand up to the age of 35, but after he getting married he is influenced by his wife to be ambitious. after ten years(by 45), because of their life then he becomes silent and discouraged. even he tries hard to be succeed, failure overtakes him.
the mother: a silent school teacher who has no desire for her self, but really wants to see both her husband and her son become succed. at the and, she softens a little after realizing that their dreams come true.

between the all character i like the father character because he responsible with his family and he want make his family be happy although he failed to done that but he still want tries hard to be succeed.
the story happened in a chiken farm in the country in the restaurant across the railroad station in bidwell oiho. and i dislike the setting of this story because i can't use my imagination to imagion that setting because i don't know about that place.

1. Grandmother has a good character in this story, I like with her character because she one person that has good performance. Patient with Bailey.
2. The story happen in my opinion, it takes place in a car on the road. In a day when people who have relax to take rest. It takes place in front of Sammy Butt’s barbecue place and I like the setting. It make one imagine how to place is, and guessing what looks like the place is.
